How to design a stylish profile page for your Github profile?

I will walk you through the steps to create the most attractive Github profile using markdown. Firstly check out my Github Profile: https://github.com/shivani789 and login to your Github account.

Step 1: Create a new repository named same as your username, like in my case I created a new repository named shivani789.

Since i have already created the repository it is showing it already exists

After entering the repository name, you will get this message shown in green color. If you want you can add description for the repository(optional). Make sure to select Public as I have checked above and also select “Add a README file”- this is the file in which you will write your design code. After doing the above steps hit on -”create repository”.

Step 2: Go to this link — https://rahuldkjain.github.io/gh-profile-readme-generator/

In here start filling the details that you want to display on your profile, add your usernames/profiles(just write your username not the complete url) asked at last. For example in Github username just write shivani789 not the complete link — https://github.com/shivani789. Select your tech stacks and then click on “Generate README”

best is to preview and edit details as per your satisfaction and once satisfied copy the code and paste in the README.md file and see the magic

You will see the markdown code written from your provided details on the screen. On top there will be options to edit — if you want to add or delete any detail you can do it by going back to the form. Copy — just copy the code and paste it in the README.md file create in your repository. Download — if you want you can download the markdown code. Preview- With this you can see how the profile will look like from the details provided.

In the file README.md select the pen(edit this file)- then paste the complete copied code and then commit changes and then see the magic. You will get the same design as shown in the preview mode.
