Things to do before application filling
Prepare the Resume pdf (get it reviewed by past scholars or from your seniors). For a resume, you can use formats available online and add links to your projects and certificates in it.
If your college provides provisional transcripts or mark sheets hard copy, scan them to create a pdf of it. If you do not get transcripts from college, then request from your academic office for its issuance.
Identify the Professor(or Assistant Professor) who will write a Letter of Recommendation for you. It is very important to tell the Professor regarding this beforehand so that there is no confusion and no delay from their part. If the Letter of Recommendation is not possible on the letterhead of the university, a word file can also be submitted. You will receive the mail when your Professor submits the Letter of Recommendation.
Essay Answer Tips
First important point is to maintain a Google document in which you will write your answers. This document can be referred later to prepare for your interview round and the view link can be shared easily for review.
Adhere to the word limit, try to complete your essay within the word limit. I would personally suggest not to write too short answers. Don’t copy content from the Internet, answer the questions in your own words stating your experience(very important) with respect to the question and appropriately to what the question is asking for.
The second section comprises of the essay questions which need to be answered within the given word limit. Word limit is provided for each question and make sure to form your answers within that limit because the answer section for each question will accept only the max limit of words mentioned. Suppose the word limit of one question is 200 words and you have written your answer in 201 words or more. Only the first 200 words will be accepted in the answer and the remaining words will be removed. So, it is better to complete the answer in the word limit, so that your last statement is not cut off and you are able to provide all the points that you wanted to have in answer.
Video Tips
Make sure to validate that your video is accessible and link is working with the other Google account other than that of yours. Also, the video should not exceed the time limit mentioned. This is the chance for you to showcase your interest in technology and summarise your contributions.
Application Review
Make sure to get your answers and video reviewed from a past scholar or at least two people. Work on the suggestions provided and get your application reviewed until you receive a positive response for a complete application.
